The well-known insurance business – which has been operating from North Yorkshire since 1988 – is expanding its operations and taking on more staff to support its traditional areas of business and help it diversify into new sectors, including care and social welfare.

The broker typically concentrates on providing bespoke insurance expertise and cover to rural industries, especially the farming and equine sector, as well as commercial and personal insurance.

The new recruits are:

  • Susan Lewis – Operations Manager
  • Elizabeth Boyes – Farm Account Handler
  • Jonathan Copley – Account Executive for Care and Social Welfare
  • Jenna Taylor – Commercial Account Handler
  • Katie Walker – Commercial Account Handler
  • Anna Wheldon – Administration Assistant

Susan Lewis joins the team as Operations Manager after undertaking a similar role with Towergate in Leeds. She has helped to recruit to the newly created roles of Admin Assistant, Commercial Account Handlers and Farm Account Handler as well as filling the existing position of Account Executive for Care and Social Welfare.

Anna, Elizabeth, Jenna and Katie are all new to the insurance industry, and Jonathan joins the team from a broker in Easingwold where he dealt with commercial insurance for several years.

Sean McClarron said: “We’re delighted with the calibre of people we have brought into the business in recent months. It’s important that we continue to strengthen in key areas such as farming, commercial and the care sector and these appointments reflect our intention to grow in these sectors.”

“Susan Lewis has joined us as Operations Manager and brings with her a wealth of insurance experience. She will be responsible for developing the internal teams, ensuring that our people continue to build their technical knowledge whilst delivering high levels of personal service to our customers.”

Susan said: “It’s an exciting time at McClarrons and I am looking forward to working with all the team in Malton. We have recruited a number of new people already and we are continually looking for good quality individuals who can add value to the business, particularly in our specialist areas.”
