McClarrons is proud to announce the arrival of three new members to our Farm and Operations teams, joining several other new starters who have become part of our team this year – you can read more about them here. In this blog, we introduce you to Suzy, Molly, and Lauren.
Suzy has recently joined our Farm Team as a Client Advisor, bringing with her a wealth of customer service experience from a diverse career background that included the hospitality industry and working in the often-high-pressured environment of a GP surgery. Having returned from her time living in Edinburgh to Yorkshire, to be closer to her family, Suzy’s most recent role was in the Operations Team of a private bank in Edinburgh. While new to the insurance and farming industry, Suzy was drawn to McClarrons by our strong work culture and the positive testaments provided by other team members, which fitted in with her love of working with an upbeat team. Suzy will naturally pull on both her experience in customer services as well as the financial sector, to support our clients with their insurance queries and arranging suitable insurance protection for them.
Outside of work, Suzy enjoys reading, going for long walks, and travelling to different countries. Lately, she has been cherishing spending the weekends with her nieces and nephews.
Suzy said of her appointment: “Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly since I joined McClarrons and I feel especially lucky to be working in the Farm Team, who are incredibly lovely and fun. Having not worked in insurance before, it’s quite daunting, but I’m looking forward to developing my knowledge as part of such a great team!”
Another addition to our Farm Team is Molly, who has also joined as a Client Advisor. While pursuing her studies, Molly took on several part-time roles, including a role in hospitality, serving as a riding instructor at a local riding school, and most recently, riding racehorses at Tim Easterby Racing. Although Molly is new to the insurance industry, she has a deep connection to the rural community and is passionate about supporting its wellbeing, which led to her taking on the role of secretary at her local Young Farmers Club, having been a member since the age of 13, as well as pursuing her new role at McClarrons. Molly’s understanding of the rural sector, the challenges rural businesses face and how it operates stand her in good stead for understanding our farming clients’ concerns and priorities. Molly is eager to begin her journey with McClarrons and has been impressed by the company’s welcoming atmosphere and the high standards of service delivered by the wider team. Molly is also committed to obtaining her CII certification, fostering long-term relationships with clients, and ultimately working her way up to the role of Client Executive.
In her spare time, Molly enjoys riding her horses and organising events for her local Young Farmers Club; she said of her short time getting to know the team: “I definitely agree with what I have heard from a couple of my new colleagues at McClarrons – ‘work hard, play hard!’.”
Head of Farm, Grant Hartley said of Molly and Suzy’s appointments: “I am excited to welcome Suzy and Molly to the team. Their fresh perspectives will be valuable as we continue to support and expand our services to rural communities. Both bring dedication to the role and I am confident that their contributions will enhance our ability to provide high-quality service to our clients.”
Joining McClarrons’ Operations Team as Finance Executive is Lauren, who brings with her a decade of experience working in a mixture of small diverse, and large corporate companies in the finance sector, following an earlier career in hospitality management. Lauren’s passion for finance stems from her love of working with numbers; this, alongside her many years’ experience will help to support McClarrons’ operational team when it comes to all things Finance! Lauren was initially attracted to McClarrons’ core values and company beliefs and is eager to expand her knowledge of the insurance and broker industry, while advancing her accounting qualifications and career.
Outside of work, Lauren stays busy with her toddler, enjoys running and hiking, and indulges in good food and wine. Lauren said of her time at McClarrons so far: “Thank you to all who have welcomed me, and I look forward to getting to know the team more.”
We are excited to see our new team members develop into their roles and help take the company to new heights. If you are interested in a career at McClarrons, you can understand more about our current vacancies here. Also, why not watch our latest recruitment video, here?
