Launching the McClarrons Future Professionals Programme

At McClarrons, we are committed to developing people and supporting long-term careers. That’s why we’re proud to introduce our Future Professionals Programme, a new opportunity designed to help the next generation take their first step into a professional career.

Starting this September, this programme has been created for school, college and university leavers aged 18–25 who are ready to begin their journey in financial services.

A Different Way to Start Your Career

We know that traditional routes like university or apprenticeships aren’t the right fit for everyone, that’s why we’ve designed a programme that offers a practical and supported alternative.

Over six months, you will earn a salary while gaining real, hands-on experience within the business. You will learn about the financial services industry in a structured way, building both confidence and essential workplace skills in a supportive environment.

You won’t just be observing, you’ll be part of the team, contributing to real client work and experiencing what a career in insurance is really like.

Learning While You Work

Throughout the programme, you will take part in a blend of on-the-job learning, classroom-style sessions, revision workshops and independent study. This combination is designed to give you both practical experience and a strong technical foundation.

Alongside this, we will support you in working towards your Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate, helping you prepare for your first exam to build a recognised foundation in the industry.

Built Around People and Progression

We are incredibly proud of the culture we have built at McClarrons; it’s a place where people support each other, can develop their skills and build long-term careers. To learn more about our culture, read more about our Vision and Core Values

During this programme, you will be supported every step of the way with mentoring and guidance from experienced colleagues, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent role on completion of the programme.

Why This Matters to Us

Our Managing Director, Garry Davies, is particularly passionate about the programme:

“I joined the business at 17 years old, having decided that university wasn’t the next step for me, I am naturally a strong believer in McClarrons’ ability to support and develop young people into successful and fulfilling long-term careers.

Insurance is a hugely rewarding and often overlooked industry, but one that can offer long-term job security, progression and day-to-day variety; not to mention that McClarrons offers an incredibly welcoming and social environment.

We are excited to welcome our first cohort onto the McClarrons Future Professionals Programme.”

Who We’re Looking For

You do not need any previous experience in insurance to apply. We are looking for people who are motivated and curious, eager to learn and develop, and ready to take a proactive approach to their career. If you are interested in building a long-term future in financial services, you could be exactly who we are looking for.

How to Apply

If you’re interested in joining our first cohort, we’d love to hear from you. You can find out more or register your interest by visiting our Future Professionals Programme webpage or emailing emma.cutress@mcclarroninsurance.com. The application deadline is Friday 26th June

Successful applicants will be invited to attend a Selection Day on Wednesday, 8th July at our Malton head office, where you’ll have the chance to meet the team, experience our environment, and take part in group activities. A limited number of participants will be offered a place on the programme with a start date of Monday 7th September 2026. Feedback will be available to all attendees.
