New talent across the team

Welcoming New Talent Across the McClarrons Team

We are pleased to welcome four new colleagues to McClarrons. Joining our Care, Commercial and Claims teams, Andrew, Lucia, Clinton and Poppy each bring a unique experience and a shared enthusiasm as they begin the next chapter of their careers with us.

Andrew joins McClarrons as a Client Executive within our Care Team, bringing with him several years of commercial insurance experience. Prior to joining McClarrons, Andrew worked as a Commercial Account Executive, arranging insurance for businesses ranging from sole traders through to multi-million-pound organisations. Before moving into insurance, he spent two decades in the motor trade, including working from the very same building in Malton that is now home to McClarrons’ head office.

Andrew enjoys the variety the insurance industry offers, with no two days ever being the same. He particularly values the opportunity to meet people from a wide range of backgrounds and industries, helping them to understand insurance and protect their businesses. Although new to the Care sector, Andrew is looking forward to expanding his specialist knowledge and becoming a valued member of the team.

Commenting on his appointment, Andrew said: “I have been aware of McClarrons from a young age, having grown up locally, and many family friends have trusted McClarrons with their insurance over the years. The business has always had a fantastic reputation in the area and, combined with its strong core values and culture, it made joining an easy decision. Since arriving, I’ve received such a warm welcome, and everyone has been incredibly friendly and supportive.”

Outside of work, Andrew spends much of his time in the gym, where he is currently training towards competing in strongman events. He also enjoys listening to music, eating out, and trips to the cinema.

Lucia joins our Commercial Team as a Client Advisor, bringing around 20 years of insurance experience across underwriting, broking and claims.

Lucia began her career in insurance in administration before moving into marine underwriting, where she developed a passion for the industry and began studying towards her professional qualifications. Throughout her career, she has worked across a broad range of commercial products, giving her extensive technical knowledge and experience.

Speaking on her appointment, Lucia said: “The core values stood out to me from our very first meeting. Putting the client first has always been important to me, and I immediately recognised that same commitment at McClarrons. The collaborative and supportive culture made it somewhere I knew I wanted to be, and I’m excited to be part of the future of the business.”

Lucia is currently working towards completing her ACII qualification and hopes to use her experience to support and mentor others as they develop their own careers within the industry.

Outside of work, Lucia enjoys visiting family in Italy, attending live music events, renovating her Victorian home and spending time gardening with her rescue dog.

Clinton joins McClarrons as a Claims Advisor, bringing with him valuable customer service and operational experience gained across the vehicle technology and asset finance sectors.

Before joining McClarrons, Clinton spent several years working in customer-facing and operational roles, supporting customers and ensuring they received the best possible service. Drawn to the insurance industry by the opportunity to continue helping people through important moments, he saw claims as the perfect role to build on his existing experience while developing new skills.

Reflecting on his move to McClarrons, Clinton commented: “Although I was nervous about learning something completely new, I’ve been really happy with everything so far. Everyone has been incredibly friendly and welcoming, and it already feels like I’ve been here much longer than I have.”

Looking ahead, Clinton plans to begin studying towards his CII qualifications as he builds his knowledge and develops a career within the insurance industry.

Outside of work, Clinton enjoys keeping active at the gym, spending weekends away at his caravan, and taking his dog for long walks along the coast.

Poppy also joins the Claims Team as a Claims Advisor, following the completion of her Law degree. Since graduating, Poppy has combined customer-facing roles with volunteering, where she developed valuable communication, problem-solving and client support skills.

Poppy was attracted to the Claims Team because it combines analytical thinking with helping people through challenging situations. Speaking about joining McClarrons, she said: “The community was what really stood out to me. It quickly became clear how close-knit the team is, and it felt like the perfect environment to learn, develop and build my career.” Looking ahead, Poppy is focused on developing her knowledge within claims while continuing to grow professionally.

Outside of work, Poppy enjoys reading crime fiction and spending time helping her partner restore and repair tractors in the countryside.

The arrival of Andrew, Lucia, Clinton and Poppy reflects McClarrons’ continued investment in attracting talented people into every area of the business. Their combined experience will strengthen our ability to provide expert advice, responsive claims support and specialist insurance, helping ensure clients continue to receive the high levels of service they expect from McClarrons.
