McClarrons Strengthens Its Team with Four New Members

As the year draws to a close, McClarrons proudly welcomes four new members to its Commercial, Claims, and Care & Social Welfare teams, bringing the total number of hires this year to 17, including the 13 who joined earlier in the year; you can read more about them, here.

Scarlet has joined McClarrons’ Claims Team as a Claims Advisor, bringing with her over a decade of experience in the horse racing sector, a career that took her around the world, including spending a couple of years in Australia. Upon returning to Malton, Scarlet took on a role involving managing race travelling for a local horse trainer. After many years in the same industry, Scarlet was ready for a new challenge and was drawn to McClarrons. Scarlet is now working through her induction and training plan with us to become an integral part of our team where she assists clients during their time of need by progressing claims in an efficient and effective manner.

Scarlet said of her appointment: “When I saw the position at McClarrons, I thought it would be a great fit; I’m meticulous, a great team player, and I thrive on building strong relationships with both clients and staff. Working within the insurance sector is fascinating, and my values align perfectly with McClarrons’, so I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to work here.”

Outside of work, Scarlet enjoys horse riding, with her dog, Mouse, often in tow. And every other Sunday, she and her partner visit a cosy pub for a pint or a hearty roast before relaxing at home.

Katie has joined our Care & Social Welfare Team as a Client Advisor, after gaining extensive experience from various roles across the insurance industry. Her career began as an Account Handler at a large broking firm, where she worked in the Commercial team before specialising in agricultural insurance — a natural progression given her family’s farming background. Eager to broaden her expertise, Katie then trained as a Loss Adjuster working in both property and rural losses specifically. Now, working in a new area of insurance, Katie will bring her many and varied skills from past roles into her day to day work assisting our Care & Social Welfare clients with their insurance requirements.

After several years working in large corporate firms, Katie decided to return to broking, seeking a more personal connection with clients and their businesses, and now works from our Hull office. Katie’s experience working in diverse insurance sectors equips her with a strong understanding of client needs and concerns, and has developed her personal, solutions-focused approach. Katie felt McClarrons to be the perfect opportunity to work in a family-run, client-focused environment that values its team and clients.

Katie said of her appointment: “Insurance is a great career – you can climb the ladder, develop in your role, and make it as social or independent as you like. You’ll always be learning, and the knowledge is transferable globally, making it an exciting and versatile field. My goal is to grow my wealth of experience.” Outside of work, Katie is a passionate Liverpool football fan and enjoys watching Formula 1, cruising abroad, and skiing. She and her fiancé are currently building a house near York and excitedly planning their wedding for the coming year.

Another of our new team members is Lewis, who has joined our Commercial Team as a Client Executive. Lewis started his insurance career working as an Account Executive for a local representative in Hull. In his most recent role before joining McClarrons, he worked as the branch manager at Clegg Gifford Insurance, also in Hull. As such, Lewis has spent the last 5 years working on building a client book in the Hull area, working with a variety of local businesses.

Lewis was drawn to McClarrons’ core values and the family-oriented atmosphere within the team. For him, the most rewarding aspect of his role is engaging with clients. Outside of work, Lewis enjoys playing football for his local team and is presently learning how to play the acoustic guitar.

Lewis said of his appointment: “I am thrilled to be a part of the McClarrons team and am very much looking forward to what the future holds, which is most definitely a bright one.”

Finally, we welcome Maicey, who has also joined our Commercial Team as a Client Executive. Her professional background includes experience working at a solicitors’ firm, a conveyancers, and most recently, working alongside Lewis at Clegg Gifford Insurance. During her time in insurance, Maicey discovered a strong interest in medical malpractice, leading her to build a client base within the aesthetics industry. On joining the insurance sector, Maicey quickly adapted to the fast-paced nature of insurance and particularly enjoys its more social aspects, working with clients and attending networking events. At McClarrons, she will continue to develop her expertise and knowledge to be able to assist the large variety of commercial clients we look after, advising them on their insurance coverage.

Maicey said of her appointment: “My goal at McClarrons is to continue building my book of clients, expand my technical knowledge and continue engaging in more networking events.” Outside of work, Maicey enjoys going to the gym, travelling, and unwinding with a glass of prosecco.

We extend our best wishes to our new team members for the year ahead and look forward to them supporting in the delivery of exceptional service to our clients.
