After welcoming 17 new team members last year, McClarrons has continued its growth into 2025 with the addition of three new starters: Olivia, Samantha, and Matthew. Meet them below.
Olivia has joined our Farm Team as a Client Advisor; she grew up on a farm, where her father still works, and has always been keen to pursue a career that adds value to the agricultural industry. With a strong understanding of rural life, Olivia was drawn to McClarrons due to our values, strong vision, and commitment to supporting the farming community.
Before joining McClarrons, Olivia worked as a Bid Manager in the construction sector, gaining over four years’ experience in a client-facing role, honing her ability to engage confidently and effectively with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders. Alongside this, she has worked with dressage rider Becky Moody for over 10 years and continues to support her on Saturdays, even now.
Olivia sees insurance as an interesting industry with strong career potential and is looking forward to developing her skills further at McClarrons.
Outside of work, Olivia is an experienced rider, having competed up to Advanced Medium Dressage and, more recently, began breeding her own foals. She also enjoys helping on the family farm, walking and exploring the Yorkshire countryside, and taking holidays in the sun as a break from her busy routine.
Speaking of her appointment, Olivia said: “It’s clear to see how passionate everyone is about the company’s core values and the delivery of outstanding customer service. Joining the Farm Team, who are committed to supporting the rural community and understand the challenges of the industry, is important to me. I’m grateful for the support I’ve received so far and excited for what’s ahead.”
Another member who has joined our Farm Team is Samantha, who’s taken on the role of Client Executive. Having also grown up on her family’s farm and now farming in partnership with her husband, she brings a deep, personal understanding of the agricultural industry and the day-to-day challenges faced by farming businesses.
Samantha’s background gives her a practical view of how farms operate, combined with a strong technical knowledge built over years working in the insurance sector; this makes her well-placed to support clients with tailored insurance advice for farming businesses.
Samantha was drawn to McClarrons for the opportunity to work alongside a team that shares her passion for the rural community and offers a dedicated, specialist approach to farm insurance. Outside of work, she takes an active role in their beef and sheep farm and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. Samantha also enjoys various sports, visiting new places and going to the theatre.
Speaking of her appointment, Samantha said:
“I am really excited for the next chapter as I embark on my new role at McClarrons. I have been looking forward to getting started, meeting colleagues and clients. I pride myself on being able to deliver a personal service, and by understanding the agricultural industry and the challenges it faces, it allows me to offer solutions to clients to protect themselves and their business needs fully. I look forward to meeting clients at the upcoming agricultural shows, including Driffield and Ryedale.”

Head of Farm, Grant Hartley, commented upon Olivia’s and Samantha’s joining by saying: “We are incredibly excited to have Samantha and Olivia join our team; Sam’s expertise in insurance, and Olivia’s passion and investment in the agricultural community make them valuable additions to our team.”
Finally, Matthew has joined our Commercial team as a Client Advisor, bringing with him three years of experience in the insurance industry, spanning both Life and Domestic Insurance. Over time, Matthew has developed a genuine passion for the industry, driven by its people-focused nature and the opportunity to build strong client relationships; he takes pride in helping individuals and businesses protect themselves.
The opportunity to join McClarrons was one Matthew didn’t want to miss; he was already familiar with the company’s strong reputation, both through a current member of the team and two business owners he knows personally who work with McClarrons. For him, the decision to join was clear.
Speaking of his appointment, Matthew said: “From my first day, I’ve felt like part of the family business. It’s clear that McClarrons truly invests in its staff, and the supportive atmosphere contributes to it being a great place to work. Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep developing my knowledge and experience. I’m ambitious about progressing my career here and hope to grow within the company for many years to come.”
When away from work, Matthew enjoys spending weekends at the beach, on the golf course, or visiting his hometown of Manchester for a change of scene and some well-earned downtime.
Julian Hale, our Head of Commercial, commented on Matthew’s joining by saying: “We are excited to welcome Matthew to the team, he is very much a team player and enjoys building a rapport with both clients and colleagues. His core values are very much aligned with McClarrons, and he is already fitting in well with the team in Malton.”
