New members of the McClarrons Commercial Team

We have some new faces in the McClarrons Commercial Team!

Our Commercial Team has ambitious plans for growth as we continue to recruit and train new staff to be able to comprehensively assess our clients’ needs and source suitable insurance policies and solutions that will support them and their businesses into the future. Through this, we are not only supporting the sustainability of our growth plans but also bettering our ability to provide clients with impeccable service and expert advice.

We are therefore pleased to announce further additions to our team, with David Barber, Gerard Roberts and Lewis Welch all joining within a 6-week period.

David, new to the insurance industry, was previously working in estate agency, a job he’d taken on after college. With aspirations to advance personally and acquire more professional responsibilities, David is eager to learn and always looking for ways to expand his technical insurance knowledge to be able to better help his clients.

On his appointment, David said “McClarrons has a good working environment and the commercial team in particular have been very welcoming and have made settling in very easy”.

Like many of us at McClarrons, David is a big football and rugby fan and enjoys a trip to the pub where he runs a quiz and other games. He enjoys spending time with his wife and walking his sprocker spaniel, Nala.

We would also like to take this opportunity to wish David the best for an exciting year ahead as he and his wife welcome their first child.

Gerard is also from a non-insurance background and was previously a self-employed practice management and finance consultant in the legal industry; looking after facilities contracts, insurance renewals, practising certificates and client transactions, provided Gerard with knowledge and skills highly transferable to the insurance industry. For Gerard, a change of direction and his eagerness to overcome new challenges and learn new skills was the motivation behind joining McClarrons, alongside the company ethos and core values which stood out strongly to him, particularly our value of One Team.

In his spare time, Gerard appreciates the smaller things in life such as reading, watching films and walking his dog Molly, a Maltese Shih Tzu cross, who he cherishes greatly.

Similarly for Lewis, joining McClarrons has been a career change from his previous job in the motoring industry, where he was in a customer facing role as an Aftersales Consultant. His interest in McClarrons was formed from many contributing factors but especially the history of its growth and the company’s strong, local reputation.

Lewis is a “local lad” to McClarrons’ Head Office; having grown up in Malton, he is surrounded by lots of friends and family He is both physically and socially very active outside of work playing and coaching rugby and going for long walks with his wife and dogs.

Lewis said of joining McClarrons: “I had contacts with people within the company and they always spoke very highly of Sean [McClarron], the company and their colleagues. For me, it was an easy decision to join.”

Our Head of Commercial, Nick Pay, said of our new team members: “they all have […] a desire to provide excellent client service, an enthusiasm for working as a team and an enjoyment of working in a dynamic organisation. I am very pleased to be able to welcome them to our team and see how they progress.”

All three of them are motivated and aspiring individuals with eagerness to learn the multifaceted and intricate details of the insurance industry with hopes to gain experience and advance in their roles at McClarrons.

We are delighted to have David, Gerard and Lewis join us and we continue to look for new hires to facilitate our continued success. Think McClarrons may have a role for you? See our latest job vacancies her
