McClarrons was founded by Roy McClarron in 1988, alongside his son and existing Managing Director, Sean McClarron. The culture that was ingrained at McClarrons from its establishment is something we are very proud of, and something we are dedicated to maintaining throughout the company’s growth and development.
At the start of 2020, we announced a new initiative to our team – the Roy McClarron Award – which would be presented to the team member who has most prominently displayed our Core Values throughout the year.
With a determination to bring people into the company who share, and have a strong belief in, our Core Values and Vision, we wanted to bring them to the fore in the guise of the Roy McClarron Award.
Nominated by colleagues, anyone at McClarrons can win the Roy McClarron Award. Our Senior Leadership Team then take the time to read through the nominations to determine who the recipient of the Roy McClarron Award Cup should be for that year.
This year, we are delighted to announce that Luke Beeson, Account Executive in our Care & Social Welfare team, is our winner!
“Luke has shown a quiet determination throughout 2020, relentless in his ambition to provide clients with the best service possible, never letting ‘service without compromise’ fall out of sight, no matter how big a challenge the risk or industry may present! Luke’s sharing of knowledge and support for his team is also apparent and we feel that he has truly lived our Core Values throughout what has been an incredibly tough year. Well done Luke!” – Sean McClarron, Managing Director
“Luke is highly thought of within the care team and wider business for his experience, professionalism, attention to detail and focus on clients. He has worked with members of the care team on their own development, educated others within the business on the care sector and is often approached by members of the care team for his assistance with clients. The success of the care team is in no small part down to Luke’s body of work and attitude.” – extract from Luke’s nomination.
Just some of the reasons behind Luke’s achievement:
Luke’s tenacity and determination to provide clients with the desired and rightful outcome for their insurance protection itself or in the event of a claim, is evident. With government restrictions and various rules and regulations being brought into play, across the Care sector in particular, it has been a challenge to ensure that clients are acting in their own best interests when it comes to insurance. However complex the scenario, Luke has worked with clients to ensure they receive the support they need.
Luke is always there to support his clients and colleagues, no matter the hour – he is someone clients can go to in their time of need, as well as his team being able to rely on him for support when required.
With the insurance markets shifting suddenly, and often unpredictably, throughout 2020’s pandemic, Luke’s approach to his work has had to shift considerably. Rethinking his approach with clients and insurers, Luke’s efforts and relentlessness have paid off with him seeing some great client outcomes because of this.
Luke’s sensitivity to the wider team’s personal and work-related challenges have led him to be a great support to the team in varying ways. From organising a team social in the form of the Chilli Chip Challenge(!!!) whilst working remotely, to arranging specific cover training for members of McClarrons’ extended team, Luke is always happy to help his co-workers.
Luke commented: ‘’I am very proud to win the Roy McClarron Award in what has been an extremely challenging year to say the least.
I always strive to not only provide the best possible service to my clients, but also extend my knowledge and support to the rest of the team at McClarrons, and it is great to receive recognition for this.’’
