PRACTICAL SUPPORT TO HELP YOU MANAGE RISK

About our Risk Management Services

Every business is different, and the risks you face will depend on how your business operates, the work your employees carry out, your premises and the equipment you use. From understanding your legal responsibilities and maintaining appropriate documentation to identifying hazards and reviewing existing controls, there can be a lot to consider.

Our Risk Management services can provide practical health & safety and risk management support to businesses across a range of sectors. We can help you understand the risks within your business, identify areas where your existing arrangements could be strengthened and support you in putting appropriate measures in place to help manage them.

Our role is to work alongside you, taking the time to understand your business and the challenges you face. Depending on your needs, this could include carrying out a health & safety audit, reviewing a specific risk assessment, providing ongoing advice or his may include assisting with accident and incident investigations, reviewing what happened and helping you understand any actions that may be required, including where you need to respond to an enforcement authority.

HOW WE CAN SUPPORT YOUR BUSINESS

Risk Management Services

Health & Safety Audits

A health & safety audit can provide an opportunity to review how effectively your existing health & safety management arrangements are working. We can review your systems and documentation against the HSE's HSG65 management standard. Following the audit, we will provide a report and action plan outlining areas for consideration and recommended actions.

Health & Safety Inspections

Regular inspections can help identify significant health & safety hazards across your buildings, workplaces and external areas. Our inspections look at the practical risks present within your business, with findings documented in a report and action plan. This can help you understand where improvements may be appropriate and provide a clear basis for taking action.

Health & Safety Advisor

Businesses may not always need a full-time health & safety professional but having access to competent advice can be invaluable when questions or issues arise. We can act as your company health & safety advisor, providing ongoing support by telephone and email, helping you address health & safety matters as they arise.

Enforcement Support

Businesses may need to respond to requirements or recommendations from organisations including Fire Officers, Environmental Health and the Health & Safety Executive. We can provide assistance in understanding and responding to these requirements, as well as helping businesses meet recommendations arising from insurance company surveys.

Risk Assessments & Safe Working Procedures

Risk assessments should reflect the activities your employees actually carry out and the risks associated with them. We can provide advice and assistance with developing risk assessments and documented safe working procedures, including access to templates where appropriate. This can help you consider the hazards associated with particular activities and the controls you have in place.

Fire Risk Assessments

Fire safety is an important consideration for businesses and property owners. We can provide fire risk assessments for low and medium complexity buildings, with assessments and reports carried out in line with PAS 79-1, the British Standard Code of Practice for fire risk assessments in non-domestic premises. Following the assessment, we provide a report and action plan to help you understand the findings and consider any recommended improvements.

Bespoke Training

Effective health & safety management depends on people understanding the risks associated with their work and the responsibilities they have. We can provide bespoke health & safety training tailored to your business, including manual handling, working at height, risk assessment, health & safety awareness and Legionella awareness. Training can be adapted to the needs of your business and the roles of the people attending.

Incident Reporting

When a significant accident or incident occurs, knowing what action to take can be difficult, particularly while dealing with the immediate impact on your people and business. We can provide support following a significant accident or incident, including assistance with accident investigation and RIDDOR reporting where required. Our aim is to provide practical support and help you understand what needs to happen following an incident.

Advice that complements your insurance
INSURANCE AND RISKS

Advice that complements your insurance

Risk management and insurance play different but complementary roles in protecting your business. Insurance provides financial protection against specified risks and events covered by your policy. Risk management focuses on understanding the risks your business faces and the practical steps that can be taken to manage and mitigate them.

As an independent insurance broker, our understanding of risk sits at the heart of what we do. Our Risk Management services allow us to support businesses beyond arranging insurance, providing practical advice that considers the realities of running your organisation.

Our approach is not about trying to remove every risk from your business. Instead, we aim to help you understand the risks you face, strengthen your existing arrangements and support you in making informed decisions about how they should be managed.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR BUSINESS

A proactive approach to managing risk

Effective risk management starts with understanding how your business operates and where potential risks may arise. Your risks can change as your business develops, whether you are introducing new equipment, changing your processes, taking on new employees or adapting your premises and activities.

Our Risk Management service is tailored to your individual circumstances, providing practical support across areas such as health & safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, training and ongoing advice. We can also support you following an incident, helping you review what happened and consider whether existing arrangements need to be strengthened.

Taking a proactive approach can help you identify potential issues early, review whether your existing controls remain appropriate and make sure your systems and procedures continue to reflect how your business operates.
