This time, our dedicated racers took on Cedar Barn’s Dirty Dash.
No sooner had they managed to rid their running trainers of the dirt from Cancer Research’s “Pretty Muddy” race, and the Vines Vixens are up to their elbows in mud once again, this time raising money for The Rob Stephenson Trust and LIAM.
The two charities were set up in memory of two men in their 20s who were killed in separate but equally tragic circumstances: Rob Stephenson, 21 and Liam Miller, 20.
The Rob Stephenson Trust aims to help local people, as well as those further afield, to access playing facilities, sport and education whilst LIAM aims to offer grants to support underprivileged young people wanting to pursue careers in art and music.
Sean McClarron, Managing Director, who came along to support the team, said,
“Of course the Vines Vixens have a lot of fun at these charity fundraisers and we feel very privileged to be in a position where we’re able to support such worthwhile causes born out of utterly tragic circumstances. We have the utmost faith that LIAM and The Rob Stephenson Trust will help many young people towards their goals, and also help them have some fun along the way.”
The Vine Vixens are: Becky Ireland, Joanna Brooke, Sophie Garnett, Victoria Knaggs and Michelle Inman from McClarrons’ Farm Team, Hannah McClarron and Melissa Pickering representing the Claims Team, Abbie Jackson and Kirstie Allen from the Care & Social Welfare Team and Commercial Team respectively, and Emily Andrews, McClarrons’ Marketing Executive.
As well as taking part in the “more than 5km” obstacle course held at Cedar Barn in Pickering, McClarrons also sponsored the event, which raised over £4000 in total to be split between the two charities.
