How Lorega can help when your home or business has come to a halt

In our blog ‘Get back on your feet after a disaster with Loss Recovery Insurance’, we briefly mentioned Lorega. Here, we delve into how invaluable Lorega Loss Recovery Insurance can be when your home or business has suffered a disaster.

Working in partnership

McClarrons have teamed up with Lorega, an experienced team of claims experts and chartered loss adjusters, to offer our clients an extra layer of support, alongside the personal service and claims management advice they would already receive from our in-house Claims Team, when dealing with a claim.

In the event of a catastrophe, such as fire, flood or a storm, which can cause considerable material damage to a home or business and a serious amount of worry and stress, not to mention any business interruption which can risk a business owner going bust, we want to ensure that policyholders aren’t in it alone when they start looking into how to rebuild what they once had. With Loss Recovery Insurance, should a claim arise, an expert loss adjuster from Lorega will be on hand to assist in settling the claim for you, as well as starting remedial action.

How does Lorega work?

As we have discussed before, here, it is Lorega’s duty to ensure policyholders gain the fairest settlement possible under the terms of their policy.

Once you have informed us of your claim, should you have a Lorega policy, we will ask for one of their loss adjusters to be on-site within 24 hours to assist you in managing the loss and preparing and negotiating the claim. Upon arrival, Lorega’s loss adjuster will explain their process and ensure the insurance cover in place is adequate. They will then assess the damages and advise on any repairs or replacements. Working directly for you, guiding and supporting you, Lorega will then deal with the insurer and their loss adjuster on your behalf, ensuring the claim is dealt with fairly, because as Lorega reported in Insurance Business: “The claims service given by insurers to SMEs is lagging”. Having Lorega on side means policyholders are not up against their insurer when it comes to understanding the technical jargon of a policy and interpreting the complexities of its terms and conditions. By applying their experience, knowledge and qualifications to the claim, Lorega’s assistance allows for a more level playing field.

Essentially, by placing themselves in the shoes of the policyholder and acting on their behalf, Lorega remove some of the hassle and complexity of making a claim. This means you can rest assured that everything is being dealt with, and can continue running your home or business however you need to.

With Lorega’s Loss Recovery Insurance policy starting from as little as £43.31*, we believe that the cost, given the financial loss even a small claim could cause, is relatively small and reason enough to consider Lorega.

How Lorega can help if you haven’t chosen Loss Recovery Insurance

If a disaster has struck but you don’t have Loss Recovery Insurance in place, then all is not lost. For some, Loss Recovery Insurance may be appealing but not quite right for them, and that is also fine. Those that fall into these two groups can still benefit from Lorega’s expert help and services.

Lorega 10 provides up to 10 hours of expert telephone advice from one of Lorega’s loss adjusters to enable the policyholder to prepare, negotiate and settle their claim. Alternatively, Lorega 25 provides the same service, with up to 25 hours of expert telephone advice. Both solutions are available to homeowners and business owners and provide the policyholder with immediate advice to help quantify, negotiate and settle the damage or interruption claim.

Lorega in Action

In 2012, McClarrons received a call from one of our clients – a restaurant in the market town of Pickering, North Yorkshire – who reported damage to their business following the terrible flooding, which made it into the news that year. Using the Loss Recovery Insurance policy that we had arranged for the client, we were able to ask Lorega to step in. Within 24 hours, Lorega had sent one of their expert loss adjusters to assess the damage. Thanks to Lorega’s help and swift actions, we were able to draft our reports, collate an assessment of the damages and costs promptly, and sent the information off to the insurer for the insured to receive their claim settlement within just a few days. Meanwhile, unfortunately, other businesses, who weren’t clients of McClarrons and were also affected by the flooding, hadn’t even heard from their insurers within those few days. News travelled about the experience our client had which resulted in many businesses approaching us to have a conversation about their insurance, and in particular, Loss Recovery Insurance, which proved invaluable in this scenario.
