Each year at McClarrons Meet, our annual staff briefing, colleagues from across the business come together to reflect on performance, share plans for the year ahead and recognise outstanding contribution. It is in front of the entire team that one of the most meaningful moments of the event takes place: the presentation of the Roy McClarron Award.
The award was introduced alongside the launch of our Vision and Core Values and is named in honour of our Executive Chairman, Sean McClarron’s father, Roy McClarron. It recognises the colleague who has most consistently and effectively exemplified our core values throughout the year. The recipient embodies the work ethic, attributes and behaviours that define what it means to be a true McClarrons team member.
We are delighted to announce that the 2025 Roy McClarron Award has been presented to Louise Haworth. The award was handed over by last year’s winner, Demi Bentley (you can read more about Demi’s achievement in her own announcement blog). We extend our congratulations to Louise on a thoroughly deserved recognition and thank all of this year’s nominees for continuing to uphold the standards that define McClarrons.

Why Louise was nominated
Louise was nominated because: “She can be relied upon to support the business, relied upon to do a good job, to support the wider team and to do the right thing by our clients and the business. Louise does not just look to complete a task or project, she looks for the absolute best way she can think to do it.”
That endorsement captures precisely what this award is designed to recognise. Reliability in insurance broking is not simply about meeting deadlines. It is about safeguarding clients’ interests, maintaining standards of technical accuracy, and supporting colleagues in a way that strengthens the business as a whole; Louise consistently demonstrates supporting all three.
On receiving the award, Louise said: “It has been an absolute honour not only to be nominated for this award, but to actually win it is amazing. Over my last seven years at McClarrons, I have been supported and empowered to develop, which has led to my career pathway through the business. I have loved all the roles I have done here, but the main attraction of this company is the people I work alongside and the clients we serve, who are all the very best. It shows how much I love working at McClarrons that I wanted to come back to work sooner than I was supposed to after my maternity leave, and with that in mind, I want to say a massive thank you to Garry, Sean and Emily for supporting and facilitating me coming back to work.”
A career defined by progression
Louise joined McClarrons in 2018 as an Account Handler, as announced in our new team blog. From the outset, she demonstrated both technical competence and a willingness to take on additional responsibility.
She advanced from Account Handler to Lead Handler, then to Compact Risks Manager, and now serves as Operations Coordinator. Each step has brought broader responsibility, with her current role placing her at the centre of many of the processes and systems that underpin consistent service delivery across the business. Louise’s knowledge, gained through her time working in our broking team, serves her well as she supports the team in embracing new technologies, processes and ways of working to continuously improve how we do things for our clients and our team.
