At this year’s annual staff briefing, we proudly announced Demi Bentley as the winner of our Roy McClarron Award for 2024.
Demi is a well-deserved recipient of this award, recognised for her unwavering dedication and exceptional work ethic. She joined us nearly three years ago from an international broking firm, bringing several years of experience in Commercial insurance broking—something that has been evident in her work from day one.
Over the years, Demi has proven to be a hardworking and reliable team member, consistently going above and beyond to support both the company and her colleagues. Her adaptability and resilience allow her to tackle challenges with determination, all while maintaining a positive attitude. With a teamwork-oriented mindset, Demi fosters collaboration and is a trusted and valued member of the team.
This combination of dedication, reliability, and outstanding contributions is rightly reflected in the remarks made by her colleagues in her award nomination, here are just a few:
One Team
Despite being busy herself, Demi will often put her hand up to take on additional work when others are struggling.

Demi has a relatively high workload, yet she is nothing but helpful when asked for something [to support] on a client. Not only does she not say she is too busy, but she consistently delivers work (even during busy periods) to a very high standard.

We have gone through some changes within the team over the last couple of years. During this period, Demi has stepped up and taken more responsibility, including managing workloads and client allocation, which has been a big help to the team.
Demi continues to be a shining example within the team of what it truly means to ‘live the values.’ She consistently demonstrates empathy and determination in achieving the best possible outcomes for clients while always considering the needs of the team. Demi often goes above and beyond for both colleagues and clients with minimal fuss, and this dedication deserves recognition. Her hard work is deeply appreciated by everyone in the Commercial team.
