McClarrons welcomes new Commercial and Operations team members

Since the start of this year, McClarrons has experienced steady growth and has introduced more than seven new starters; these are Julian, Lorraine, Megan, Ian, Nandini, Helen, Fiona, and Daniel – find out more about them by clicking on their names. In line with this commitment to expansion, we are proud to introduce our three new team members: Jamie, Sam, and Fred, who have joined our Commercial and Operations teams.

Before joining McClarrons as a Compliance Officer, Jamie worked in debt management for about eight years. In his previous workplace, Jamie served as a Debt Advisor and later advanced to the position of Compliance Officer. Jamie enjoys working in compliance, gaining satisfaction from helping businesses thrive in a compliant environment. When seeing the Compliance Offer role at McClarrons, Jamie pursued it to further expand his knowledge within compliance and due to our prominent values resonating with him. Moreover, Jamie aims to contribute to the company’s future growth and the development of its compliance processes.

Jamie said of his appointment: “Everybody has been incredibly friendly and welcoming since I joined McClarrons. Despite having no prior experience in insurance, there has been a good level of support from all, and it’s reassuring to know that I’ve been given time to learn everything. I’m looking forward to being a part of the team and helping with its continued success.”

Compliance Manager, Kate Hodgson, commented on Jamie’s progress, saying: “Jamie is now a few weeks in with the business and continues to settle into his role. I look forward to seeing him develop and become an integral asset to the compliance team.”

Away from work, Jamie enjoys baking, taking trips, and walking. Recently, he rediscovered his interest in Lego, which he remarks is quite an ‘expensive hobby’!

Sam has joined McClarrons as a Client Advisor in our Commercial Team. The majority of Sam’s unique career trajectory was spent working in a chocolate factory, making single origin chocolates from beans, and writing recipes for seasonal truffles and new products. He then moved on to working in a small distillery where he made small batches of gin and rum, and curated bespoke products on special request.

Sam pursued McClarrons with an intention to learn about and explore the insurance industry, which is completely new to him. Upon joining, Sam commented: “I’m excited to be joining the McClarrons team, so far everyone has been lovely. For someone who has not worked in insurance before, it was very daunting to join, but the help I’ve received from everyone has been great!”

Commercial Client Advisor, Leah McAllister, said of Sam’s appointment: “Sam has a wealth of experience in customer service roles and has already shown to be very creative, which will make him a great asset in servicing our clients in terms of exploring and finding unique solutions where necessary. We look forward to Sam developing into his new role and continuing to be a great part of the team.”

Outside of work, Sam likes to spend his time baking, gaming, working out at the gym, and taking part in historical fencing.

Fred has also joined the Commercial Team as a Client Advisor. Prior to joining McClarrons, Fred studied Business Management at Northumbria University and worked at his family’s car sales and mechanic business where he served customers, and offered advice to those looking to buy cars. In addition to this, he also spent time working in a bar.

Fred expressed that he was attracted to McClarrons due to its client-first mentality. Coming from a family business, he considers this aspect of McClarrons important to him and aims to fulfil his clients’ needs, alongside his team, to the best of his abilities.

Fred is excited to bring fresh clients to the company, develop his understanding and skills within the industry, build strong relationships, and become a key member of the team. He commented on his appointment: “I’m excited to join McClarrons, as their dedication to exceptional service and strong core values have been evident from the start. I look forward to contributing to their excellence and working with such a supportive team.”

Upon Fred joining, Head of Commercial, Julian Hale, commented: “Fred is a fine example of the type of candidate that we are now attracting as a business. Although Fred is only junior in years, he has already had first-hand experience in the commercial arena from working in his family’s business and has immediately shown his professionalism. Add that to his eagerness to learn, and I am confident that Fred will have an exciting future ahead of him at McClarrons.”

Outside of work, Fred enjoys mountain biking, working on cars, and playing golf and rugby with his friends.

We are excited to see our new starters settle and develop into their roles and become invaluable assets to the company.
