McClarrons grow over the summer with 7 new recruits

As McClarrons continues to expand, and with our recent expansion into Hull earlier this year, we are pleased to welcome new faces to the team in both our Hull and Malton offices this summer.

Garry Davies, McClarrons’ Managing Director, commented earlier in the year: “I believe that with the addition of our new office in Hessle, we are in a strong position to be able to not only grow as a business but to develop and learn through the new relationships we build in this forward-thinking city. I am also very much looking forward to growing the McClarrons team with driven and motivated individuals who can help us progress and drive the business forward.” With this, we would like to introduce you to some of our new team members.

Claims Team

McClarrons’ Claims Team has welcomed two new members of staff – Claims Handlers Sam Hodgson and Beth Holgate.

Prior to his claims role at McClarrons, Sam worked in a specialist consultancy assisting loss adjusters and insurers in assessing the impact of subsidence on property claims. Sam is determined to obtain the best result for our clients, managing their claims to the best resolution possible. Although having technically joined us in spring, Sam comments: “I am excited to have joined McClarrons and having been here for a few months, I can see how passionate everyone is to strive for excellence every day. McClarrons allows us to develop and excel in our career which in turn will allow us to deliver ‘service without compromise’, which is our mantra. I’m really excited about the future and how both myself and McClarrons can progress.”

Beth joins us an experienced Claims Handler having worked for several years in claims teams of international insurance brokers. Beth has dealt with a wide range of clients and policies, and augments McClarrons’ claims service with particular expertise in the property, motor and commercial sectors. Of her appointment, Beth comments: “I am so excited to get stuck into claims and apply all McClarrons’ core values into my claims work, to provide customers with outstanding service. I am a ‘people person’ and have always enjoyed working with clients, and with McClarrons being an independent broker, the customer is always placed first. I am looking forward to seeing what is in store for the company and hope my experience will add value to the claims team.”

Of both new appointments, our Head of Claims, Alastair Morley, said: “Sam and Beth are both fantastic additions to the McClarrons Claims Team. Both bring a unique skill set which compliments and strengthens the expertise of the team. Critically, Sam and Beth will enable McClarrons to continue to provide the high levels of service that our clients expect when they need our help the most.”

Farm Team

Our specialist Farm Team also welcomes two new members of staff – Account Handlers Sam Outing and Emily Waines.

For 10 of the last 13 years, Sam has worked in the insurance industry, primarily in claims. Sam joins us most recently from Hedon Insurance in Hull, where he worked in personal lines broking. Joining the Farm Team here at McClarrons is a new challenge for Sam and one that he is very much looking forward to as he comments: “I came on board because of the opportunity to join such a forward-thinking company, and with the fantastic reputation that McClarrons has, it was too good not to. It’s clear already from my short time here that everyone is fully invested in the company’s core values and mantra of providing the best customer service possible. Not only that, but I’ve also personally found that everyone here is incredibly welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable, and that the company genuinely is ‘one team’”.

Emily, based at our Malton office, has a background in hospitality and customer service. Upon joining the team, Emily commented: “As someone new to the world of insurance, I was nervous to begin my journey at McClarrons, but I could not have been more welcomed and supported in my first few weeks here. Everyone is so friendly and cannot do enough for one another. I am very excited to be a part of the McClarrons team!”

Of the new appointments within our Farm Team, our Head of Farm, Grant Hartley comments: “I’m delighted to have Sam and Emily join our Farm Team. Having a growing team to support our expanding customer base is a strength for our business and shows our continued commitment to our clients. Sam brings extensive industry experience and being based in our Hull office will support customers across Hull, East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Emily is a great addition to our team in Malton and her extensive customer service experience will be invaluable in her role as she develops through her training and beyond. The team and I extend a warm welcome to both.”

Commercial Team

The Commercial Team at McClarrons has also welcomed two new members of staff – Account Handlers Demi Bentley and Leah Mcallister.

Demi joins us from an international broking firm and has several years of experience in Commercial insurance broking. Demi shares the same beliefs as us at McClarrons, in putting clients at the forefront of what we do. Demi comments: “I am very excited to be joining the McClarrons Team. I’ve been given the warmest welcome by everybody and made to feel so at ease. After only my first week, I can see that McClarrons’ vision is at the heart of what the company does – ensuring clients are provided with support throughout the whole of the year.”

Leah is legally trained and qualified as she studied Law at the University of York. She is experienced in client service and is an excellent communicator with a passion for delivering superb service to clients. Upon joining us, Leah commented: “I am very excited to be joining the team. The company’s culture really resonates with me, and I look forward to contributing to the business as I develop in my role. In my very short time here so far, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and supportive.”

Of the team’s new appointments, Head of Commercial, Nick Pay said: “I am thrilled to welcome Demi and Leah to the Commercial team at McClarrons. We have delivered strong growth for the last two years and continue on that trajectory; both Leah and Demi are tremendous additions to our team and will help us progress – I am excited by the contributions they will make.”

Finance Team

Our Finance Team has welcomed a new member of staff also – Finance Assistant Suzanne Winfield.

Suzanne has a background in customer service; the variety of financial administrative duties in her previous role fuelled her interest in Accountancy, which lead to her studying for a professional qualification. Upon joining, Suzanne commented: “I am really excited for my new role at McClarrons. Everyone has been so wonderful and welcoming – it’s amazing!”

Of the new appointment, Finance Manager, Louise Northgraves, comments: “I am pleased to welcome Suzanne into the Finance Team. She has a great attitude which means she’ll fit right in with the team and McClarrons as a whole. Suzanne has all the attributes that will make her a great asset to our company.”
