8 New Recruits, as McClarrons dedicated rural insurance team has grown

Over the last 2 years, McClarrons have expanded our dedicated rural insurance team, welcoming 5 new Account Handlers, 2 Account Executives and Head of Farm; a product of our commitment to serving the farming community, having initially been established over 35 years ago with the aim of better serving local rural businesses.

The expansion of the team comes as we look to develop our rural insurance offering for clients, to ensure they receive bespoke advice for their activities, tailored farm insurance policies to protect their risks and claims support, should the worst happen.

Grant Hartley, Head of Farm, joined the team in the early part of 2020. Grant joined us from NFU Mutual, where he worked for over 12 years. Grant now oversees the whole of McClarrons’ Farm Insurance Team, helping us to continue to improve our insurance offering to farmers and rural businesses nationwide, as well as supporting our involvement within the farming community more broadly. Grant’s experience within the insurance industry puts him in an excellent position to assist farming clients, manage our growing team and drive the company forward.

Shortly prior to Grant joining McClarrons, Account Executive, Andy Rhodes, joined the team. Andy joined with a great deal of insurance experience behind him, having started his career in 1987 at his father’s brokerage. Working with hundreds of farming clients over the years has given Andy the knowledge and ability to work with clients to ensure they have a comprehensive insurance solution in place for their business.

More recently, Tony Allanson has also joined the team as an Account Executive. Covering the whole of North Yorkshire, Tony comes with 25 years of experience working in agricultural insurance meaning he understands the challenges and risks farming businesses face, as well as having the experience and knowledge to give our clients peace of mind that they are adequately protected.

We have also welcomed Jane Atkinson, Beth McClarron, Rachel Wade, Georgia Buckland and Charlotte Milnes as Account Handlers in the team. At McClarrons, each client has a dedicated contact they can speak to in order to make changes to their insurance policy, check elements of cover or simply ask for insurance advice. By expanding our Account Handling team, with people who are personally involved in or have experience working in the agricultural sector, we look to maintain our efficient and professional service for clients as we grow – something we pride ourselves on.

With so much change and challenge occurring in the agricultural industry, it is paramount that we […] are able to continue to support and guide our clients on how best to protect their businesses into the future. With the experienced professionals we have welcomed into the business over the past couple of years, we are confident that we can continue to provide our farming clients with the advice and service they require through these continuously challenging times.

Working in partnership

With additional personnel supporting farming clients across the country, we are also always looking for ways to better support rural businesses beyond insurance. This year, we launched our partnership with Safety Revolution – the UK’s leading specialists in health and safety and risk reduction for farms, estates and agricultural businesses. This partnership aims to educate and support farmers with risk management and health and safety matters, something that is important but often brings with it a lot of additional processes and regulations. We want to support clients in all aspects of their business, helping to prevent accidents and claims from occurring wherever possible. By joining forces with Safety Revolution, we hope to help clients create a safer working environment.
