Continuing to Grow: Welcoming New Faces to McClarrons

Earlier this year, we welcomed three fantastic new team members, demonstrating our strong commitment to growth. This Summer, we’re delighted to continue that momentum with three more new starters: Venetia, Daniel, and Matthew.

Venetia joined McClarrons in early July as a Marketing Executive. She brings with her a strong creative background and previous marketing experience across various industries. Although new to the insurance sector, Venetia is excited to bring a fresh perspective to the team and is already contributing to several key campaigns.

In her role, she will be supporting the development and delivery of marketing materials, maintaining McClarrons’ digital presence, and working closely with the wider team to support business-wide communications.

Venetia said of her appointment: “I was drawn to McClarrons because of its values and the opportunity to work within a supportive, collaborative team. Having grown up locally, I’ve always been aware of McClarrons’ strong reputation and impressive growth over the years. Coming from outside the insurance industry, I’m looking forward to offering a new angle and learning as much as I can from the team around me.”

Emily Andrews, Head of Marketing & Operations commented on Venetia’s appointment: “We are really pleased to welcome Venetia into the Marketing Team at McClarrons; the team has really developed over the last 5 years and is a testament to our growth but also our ambition to continue to do so. Venetia brings experience to the team that expands our wider skill set and we are excited to see what projects and campaigns she will help us embark on.”

Outside of work, Venetia enjoys travelling and exploring new places. She’s also actively involved in Malton’s rugby club – coaching the girls’ division, playing for the ladies’ team, and managing the squad.

Daniel has joined our McClarrons Affinity team as Client Advisor, bringing with him a diverse professional background. Daniel began his career as a Mechanical Design Engineer but following the birth of his first son, pursued his passion for photography and launched a successful freelance business working predominantly with clients in the construction industry, which quickly evolved into a full-service content and project support agency.

Daniel said of his appointment: “The warm, friendly welcome I’ve received from everyone has made the return to an office environment much easier than I expected. Although I’m new to the insurance industry, the core values at McClarrons and the culture it promotes are very similar to those I strived to instil in my own business. I’m looking forward to building a career in the industry and contributing to the customer experience McClarrons is so well known for.”

Ben Pickles, Head of Art & Private Clients, commented on Daniels appointment: “Daniel’s combination of technical expertise, business ownership experience, and client-focused mindset will no doubt make him a valuable addition to the McClarrons Affinity team.”

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending time outdoors with his two sons, cooking – especially barbecuing – and playing the guitar.

Matthew has joined our Commercial Team as a Client Advisor, bringing with him over 15 years of insurance industry experience. Matthew began his career as a commercial underwriter at an MGA, working across a range of classes before specialising in social welfare scheme underwriting at Marsh.

Matthew completed his ACII qualification earlier this year, putting in two years of work and writing more than 51,000 words for his coursework to achieve this milestone.

Matthew said of his appointment: “Before applying to McClarrons I had a few informal conversations with Julian and Garry, which left a lasting impression. I saw very quickly how passionate they were about the business, what the values are, and how they would look to support and develop me further. After accepting the role, I followed McClarrons on LinkedIn while working my notice. It was clear I’d made the right choice – the company really stood out as a great employer. The events they go to in the community, and the family / one team values really resonated with me.”

Julian Hale, Head of Commercial, commented on Matthew’s appointment: “We are delighted to have Matthew join the Commercial Team. Matt brings not only a breadth of industry experience but has also, recently completed his Advanced Diploma in Insurance and is eager to utilise his knowledge in his role with us. Matt has settled in well in the early weeks and his collaborative style of working has been well received amongst his colleagues in our Hull office.”

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys getting outdoors with his two children, climbing mountains, and going on long walks. He’s also a big rugby league fan (supporting Leeds Rhinos) and used to play both rugby and cricket in various local teams.

With the addition of Venetia, Daniel, and Matthew, we’re excited to see how their skills, energy, and experience will enhance the McClarrons team. As we continue to grow, our commitment to our vision and core values remains stronger than ever.
