As we approach the end of 2025, McClarrons is proud to reflect on a year of growth, development, and investment in our people. Across the business, we have welcomed 12 new team members – strengthening our expertise, enhancing our client service, and supporting our continued commitment to being the trusted insurance broker of choice within our niche sectors.
We are delighted to introduce our final new starter of the year: Vanessa, who joins our Commercial Team as a Client Advisor.
Vanessa joins the Commercial Team with an impressive 23-year career at Direct Line Group, where she gained experience in a wide range of roles, including Sales, Claims, Compliance, Records Management, and Senior Technical & Operational Support. Her background gives her a deep understanding of customer journeys, regulatory requirements, and the technical detail behind insurance processes – all of which will support our clients from day one.
After leaving Direct Line Group, Vanessa embraced a completely new challenge and spent six years as a publican, developing strong leadership, problem-solving and people-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Reflecting on her career so far, Vanessa shared: “Insurance is an industry that holds many different paths, giving a vast array of experience – that’s what I’ve always loved about it.” When looking for her next step, the culture at McClarrons stood out: “The vision and values really appealed to me.”
Vanessa is joining our Commercial Team, which specialises in supporting businesses across retail, contracting, large commercial and corporate sectors. From understanding complex risks to arranging tailored cover, the team plays a vital role in helping clients protect their operations and plan for the future. In her Client Advisor role, Vanessa will work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide guidance, source and negotiate insurance programmes for them and provide support throughout the lifetime of their policy.
Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys walking her dogs, gym classes, motorbike road-racing events, and travelling. Her personal motto sums up her approach to work and life: “Do the best you can till you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
Reflecting on a Year of New Talent
Vanessa joins a growing group of new colleagues who began their McClarrons journey this year. Across every department, these individuals have brought new ideas, specialist experience, and a shared goal of delivering exceptional service.
Here’s a look back at the talented people who joined us throughout 2025:
We started the year by welcoming Olivia and Samantha into our Farm Team as a Client Advisor and Client Executive, and Matthew into our Commercial Team as a Client Advisor. Over the summer, we continued that momentum with three more new starters: Venetia, Daniel, and Matt. Venetia joined McClarrons as a Marketing Executive, Daniel joined the McClarrons Affinity team as a Client Advisor, and Matt joined our Commercial Team as a Client Advisor.
Shortly after, there was change in the Care & Social Welfare team which saw an internal role change for Client Advisor, Sam, from our Commercial team and two new faces. Sophia and Natalie both joined the Care & Social Welfare team as Client Advisors.
Most recently, we have welcomed three new starters in our commercial team: Kezia, who joined as Compact Risks Manager; Isabella, who came on board as a Client Advisor and Jeanette, who took on the role of Commercial Manager.
With 12 new team members, 2025 has been a significant year of growth. Each colleague has joined with the goal of strengthening McClarrons’ ability to deliver tailored, personal, and expert service to clients – and their collective enthusiasm has enriched our culture even further.
